Industry Veteran Ewan Meldrum Joins WellDog as Asia Pacific Manager
28 July 2015 (Brisbane, QLD) – WellDog announced today that it has hired Ewan Meldrum to lead its fast-growing oil and gas technical service business in the region. Mr. Meldrum, based in Brisbane, is well known in the region with over 25 years of experience in leadership positions spanning technical, operational and sales functions.
“Ewan is a highly respected leader with extensive experience in successfully delivering a variety of product and service lines in Australia,” said John M. Pope, Ph.D., president and CEO of WellDog. “His strong sales, commercial and strategic experience combined with his proven management skills make him a great addition to our company. Prior to WellDog, Mr. Meldrum served as Director of Sales and Marketing for Baker Hughes in both its Australasia and South Gulf Geomarkets. Previously, he led the Asia Pacific business for QuantX, an Expro-Baker Hughes joint venture that subsequently became ProductionQuest within Baker Hughes. Mr. Meldrum played a pivotal role in steering that venture towards more than $40 million in annual sales.
In his new role at WellDog, to be based in Brisbane, Meldrum will lead continued growth of the company’s Australian business, which provides key technical products and services, including permanent downhole monitoring, artificial lift systems, and gas and permeability testing to coal seam gas, coal miners, conventional and unconventional oil and gas operators around the world.

Meldrum is a native of Aberdeen, UK. He has lived in Australia since 2002 and has held many roles for The Expro Group and Baker Hughes across Asia Pacific, Australia and the Middle East.
